I will, for sure! Looking forward to getting the Power Mount Adapter Kit restored and added back to the machine. I’ll be running some of my vintage greenie SPTs on it at that point!

Shoprite,

I don't have a video of it running but do you have a question about it that I may be able to answer? I currently have 3 of the 9 I have restored over the years. 1 of the early Version and 2 of the later Version.

Mark V completely upgraded to Mark 7
Mark V 520
All SPT's & 2 Power Stations
Model 10ER S/N R64000 first one I restored on bench w/ metal ends & retractable casters.
Has Speed Changer, 4E Jointer, Jig Saw with lamp, a complete set of original accessories & much more.
Model 10E's S/N's 1076 & 1077 oldest ones I have restored. Mark 2 S/N 85959 restored. Others to be restored.

Tks Russ, Brand new to Shopsmith and bought three, one 10 ER and, one 500 and one 520. The 10 ER is in good shape with some rust which I am working on and it included a A34 jigsaw. Question, on the jigsaw is the upper blade mechanism supposed to help bring up the blade? In other words should that spring bring the upper head up to the top if not secured to a lower position. Sorry I don't have my manual handy so I am paraphasing the part names.

That IS the way a jigsaw normally works.

However the word "head" troubles me. Only the blade holder is subject to the spring's force. The upper arm(head???) does NOT move at all.

By upper head I meant the upper chuck. so only the upper chuck moves, not the spring cylinder?

Shoprite,

I don't own and have never used the Shopsmith (Manga) jigsaw, but I have seen them in operation on YT. Scott did a few good videos on the jigsaw and I hope one of these videos answers your questions. He goes a into a little detail about the operation of the jigsaw and its internals. In the lower portion, the rotary force from the headstock shaft is translated into an up & down force to move the blade. The upper portion has a spring to help retract the blade on the up stroke as I understand it. Don't forget that it needs oil in that lower cavity/reservoir before operating it. Hope this helps.
