I welded some tabs on the forward tank, epoxy coated it, and finished its installation by bolting it to the corresponding tabs on the cradle. Then I insulated the under-side of the galley floors and the back-side of the bulkhead, and finished installing the floors there.

I know...those tab welds are not as pretty as I'd like. But compared to what the pros in my area do for $70/hr, I figured this isn't too bad. And I adhere to the notion that if you don't weld well...weld lots. So instead of just stitching the tabs like the OE tank manufacturer did, I put a bead all the way around.

With the galley floors back in, I moved the track saw from the salon, then moved the plywood stack from one side of the salon to the other so I could get to that one piece of 3/4" mahogany plywood I needed to finish up the V-berth head. What a slog that was! But it's finally done and I'm getting close to finishing up the wood work, after which the fiberglass and painting crew will come in and turn the V-berth head into a big shower room.

It's looking like the plan!

I finally got the "Throne Room" ceiling panels installed...a month later than I'd hoped, but things have been busy. While I'm working on the ceiling panels, I'm also making progress prepping the V-berth itself for interior panels, engine wiring, muffler platforms...busy, busy, busy. But more on that later. On the ceiling panels, I also had a chance to test out the rare earth magnet shower curtain suspension plan, and it looks like it will work! There's a video of the magnet jumping to the faired panel in today's blog.

Why?

Roamer, magnets stick N-S. Try putting a pair together N-N or S-S.

Just make sure Mrs Roamer aligns the magnets to the ones in the ceiling.
(Or, the magnets can flip over in the "ears.")

Guys, c'mon...lol...I understand how magnets work. But maybe my explanation has been inadequate.

The curtains will be made of very flexible plastic--like a normal shower curtain. The ears will also be very flexible--kind of long and floppy, like a beagle's. The magnets will not be rigidly attached to the "ears." They'll be captured inside the ears and will be free to orient whichever way they want. The ears, being floppy, will also be able to orient one way or the other. Just get the ears close, and they'll jump to the magnets in the ceiling panels pretty much the same way the magnet jumped in the video, auto-orienting as they land home.

A picture would be worth a thousand words, but unfortunately the missus hasn't made the curtain yet.

And Stevie/Skou is home early today!!! I have some earth magnets that have taken finger tips off!!! I love them in there right usage.

Man hole covers work as well for that task.
