This is a very good example of the faults in the anti-ID (misnamed) argument.joshh wrote:I can register to vote online and free in about 2 minutes. Getting a DL or ID card requires at least 5 hours of standing in line.
I believe that for every instance of fraud, there are at least 10 regular citizens that the law prevents from voting.
So, what could solutions be that would eliminate the issues with an ID requirement and still help eliminate fraud in our election system? Can anyone cite any statistics of actual voter fraud? How prevalent is it? I know there are millions of dead people still on the rolls, but does anyone actually show up and pretend to be them?
1) "at least 5 hours"-- said as if this were a proven condition in ALL cases, which is silly]
2) "believe that..." (10 for 1 kept-from vs fraud); do I hear the general populace saying "well if he believes it that's all we need!"?
3) cite stats of fraud? YES.
4) how prevalent? Enough in some cases to change elections. Proven.
5) dead people proxies show up? YES. Proven.
6) and the biggest problem with all of these is that they have ALL been thrown out many times before. In all of that there is not one good, real, true, reasonable reason for claiming anyone other than Democrats are trying to stifle any votes, unless, of course, someone can show valid cause to think that Republicans were behind the very real actions taken by the Obama IRS, the Obama FEC and the Obama SEC (& goodness knows who else to come!) to stifle conservative voting.
How many million Democrat votes would have been stifled had the IRS et al shut down HUNDREDS of their hi-tech "get out the vote" machines, which no one disputes GOT OBAMA ELECTED, like those Obama regime thugs did to Reps?
Can we say "smoke screen"? All the noise and blather about a dozen or so inconvenienced voters (who weren't going to vote anyway) across the country, to hide the fact that the last election was FIXED.
TOO.
BTW, I hope it was quite clear that I directed the commentary at NO ONE, but rather, in Fact, at "the faults of the anti-ID ...argument".
