Is it worth the effort to replace the air pump seal in the older jigsaws? I am still working on cleaning mine up. I was able to get some parts from Bill Mayo and I saw the pump seal is available on the SS website. When I power up the saw no air is pumped out.

Have you saturated the piston leather with oil?
There are ball valves at the bottom that can get gunked up.

I did put some oil down there, but it's not working. To my knowledge, this saw sat for some time (a few years) before I got it. I replaced the oil in the bottom housing. I just can't seem to get the blower thing to work.

Hello,
I am looking for the lower jaw assembly for the 18" jigsaw. The unit I have will only hold blades used with portable hand held jigsaws. The parts that hold the thin scroll saw blades were missing.
Thanks for your assistane whether you can help or not!

Gosh this post seemed to disappear and now is up front. I gave up on the jig saw and worked a deal of sorts with a local contractor and former student for two older scroll saws he was willing to part with. One is a Delta two speed with some surface rust (now clean) and a Skill variable speed. Both do a respectable job and I am now scrolling for Christmas.

Hi,
Welcome to the forums!
I own one of the jigsaws and so far as I know there is only one lower jaw, it holds "jig saw" blades as well as scroll saw blades, files, and sanding sticks. If you could post a picture of what you have we can then determine what you have and if you are missing anything.

I also used that part number and received the gaskets from Shopsmith a couple days ago. They do carry them.
