I do have a copy of PTWFE, but I am missing several of the things it directs you to called "Owners Manual". I have a list of manuals, few nuts/bolts/spacers and power coupler sitting here by the computer. I just need to get home one day early enough to call the order into SS. I know I could get that stuff off ebay, but doggonit the price is so close to what SS is asking I just feel like I should send them that money. Actually they have had some great deals emailed to me lately, but I am still spending my money on the basics.

It is very late now. Waiting for an ebay auction to close that I set up at the wrong time because I did it late at night (anyone see a pattern here?). This auction is not SS related, but it helps pay for my SS bug.

Getting up at 5:30 driving to La Quinta.

Wait till ya see what I am getting Chuck. Totally worth the sleepless drive. Plus I am going to pickup a couple of things for the church along the rout, so time well spent.

It is when you have questions (even simple ones) that you do not ask, that you get in trouble placing online orders.

I learned that lesson the hard way a long time ago when I ordered a gasket for use on a portal in an inflatable radome. I questioned the unit of issue but never asked. I ordered one (1) and got a flat bed truck load of them. It turned that the unit of issue was 1 gross (a dozen dozen). Freight charges to the mountain top were $3080 and they would not let me have the one I needed.

This all happened during the Cuban Crisis and it left us with a search radar being disabled until the gasket could be reordered and delivered.

I later learned that the truck load of gaskets was returned to the main base but never returned to the vendor. The Air Force paid for a gross plus one and probably never needed a second gasket.

And then off to DRMO after several years of sitting around (Or the the IG wants to know why so many of these??)

Where they are probably now sitting in a yard waiting for something to be done with them.

You guys hit it on the head. I "think" I know what I need and really need to speak with someone to make sure I am ordering what I need. Some of it like the power coupler is easy, but the manuals and the nuts/bolts/spacers I want to make sure I have the right things on order or that they really have them before I go to the net to find them.

You do not need a 'local' club. You have at least two forum members close by.

I haven't thought about DRMO in years. I remember shopping at DRMO with the our Supply Chief hahaha. I scored a flight jacket that day.

I finally got to meet Chuck today and he was a great help. He brought over a mag with several illustrated parts breakdowns (I think they call them exploded parts list now days), as well as a few DVD's that I really need to get a look at. Then he listened to the new (used) Mark V headstock, yanked that baby apart and identified the problem in minutes.

We had some lunch, joked around and put together a shopping list for SS. I have it all loaded into the shopping cart right now, just waiting to OK the purchase with the wife
