I'm always telling people that you are not supposed to run while feeding wood through a table saw. :) My Ridged TS3650 is well powered and will rip as fast as I ever need to feed it.
I've never had any problem with my SS's as long as I had a good blade on them but I don't use them as a saw all that much. I've always had other table saws.
I have a currently resting Craftsman 10" saw that I built into a 4' x 6' table some years ago. It had the common 3/4 HP Craftsman motor on it and I did consider it under powered, or at best barely adequate. I was looking for a 1 1/2 HP motor for it but tried instead running a 220 line for it since it was dual voltage. I expected it to be better but I was amazed at the difference. Converting to 220 really made that saw.
