Hi Paul,

I see what you are saying. With no table leg in the bracket, the knob will not tighten flush against the bracket because of how the threads end at the knob. I guess it's a good thing I got 3/4" after all!

You have an interesting idea on drilling a relief in the top of the threaded bracket hole. I may explore this if I trim the stud just a hair too short. In the past, I've had good success with doing this by hand if the drill bit is sharp and the workpiece is soft. You just chuck the drill bit and turn the bracket against the drill bit by hand to chamfer it a bit.

I bought way way too many knobs. I guess I had delusions of being a Shopsmith leg knob magnate. Anyway, I am going to send all the unused knobs back on Monday for a refund. If anyone wants some before then, please PM me before then.

I failed to acknowledge that I received the quick-turn knobs that I had ordered, thank you, they are as advertised. Found another use for them - locking the table for the 6" belt sander. Far more convenient than reaching for a hex wrench. Probably other places too. Just haven't explored the possibilities.
