Today I drove to the Grandville MI Lowes store where Dave was doing PowerPro demos and surprised him by saying I didn't need to see it work, I just needed to order it. I was pleasantly surprised to get my 10% Lowes Veteran's discount off from the demo pricing, and my Lowes card got me 18 months interest free financing.

I wish I was the sort of person who loved spending money. Spent the rest of the day questioning my purchase, even though I think it is the wisest money I could spend to increase capabilities (table saw / lathe) in my space-limited workshop. I'm finally winding down.

I do hope to find a basket case SS in the area to make use of the fine innards from my current headstock, but at the moment there are only a few wishful thinkers on Craigslist.

Paul,

Just curious What was the percentage off the Online price for the PowerPro? before your lowe's discount

I once said I never thought I would be able to afford a powerpro.....
Well never say never!

Short version: Tough 2014, Mom passed last March(84), Dad passed last November(88). For the last 30 years of my dad's working career he ran an accounting/book keeping service with 2 of my bothers. He did VERY well and my 5 bothers and I are in the process of settling my dad's estate, ie about 1 million $$$$ each!! :)

Long version: So I was trying to get over to the demo in Marietta,GA last weekend, but was still working delivering some edible arrangements(helping out for Valentines day) and realized no way I was going to make it. So I looked up the Lowes on my GPS and got the store info and I called the store and left my # for the gentleman doing the shopsmith demo. Got a call back from "Billy Martin"? and explained I had seen his demo last year and just needed/wanted to order the PowerPro DIY kit. Took the order over the phone and was able to pay with my Chase CC through Lowes and receive 3% cash back @ home improvement stores. Billy said to call Shopsmith and to mention his name for 10% off any other parts.

Linda called yesterday and tracking says I should receive it tomorrow!! WOW, now thats fast!!! :)
