Yes lots of sun and tons of very busy dermatologists.JPG wrote:Lotsa sun also!
While most people love bright sunny days, I'm just opposite. A rainy day is like shot of adrenaline to me. Nothing makes me happier than an all day gentle rain. Love it.

Don't come to Arizona. All day, gentle rain hardly ever occurs here. We usually get most of our rain by the buckets in the middle of a sunny hot day.
However, we do have a clear blue sky almost all of the time.
BTW - Your yard is beautiful and well kept.

Yes here is a great example. I did not take this picture but is a favorite and a good example of many Florida evenings. Florida would be a great place to live if it weren't for the bugs, heat, humidity, skin cancer, mold and mildew.JPG wrote:And an entirely different color at dusk!

Thanks, I wish my wife felt that way I still have about 2 cubic yards of mulch to spread and at least 20 plants to get planted. When I get that finished it should be time to mow again.
Also that light green area in the background is the pond covered with Duck Weed. A tiny plant about the size of a pencil eraser that covers most ponds in the area. Ducks and other wadding birds carry it. I have to spray the pond. Problem is to get something that kills duckweed but not the fish and turtles costs a fortune. Fight it every year. I can get it clear and within a month or two it will cover over. Constant problem. Lucky my neighbor shares cost and labor. Yeah for neighbors that help!!!!

And no one if Fla has mentioned the insects that go along with the coastal areas. Missing those little buggers is why I love desert air.

It isn't just costal areas. We have Love Bugs, Grasshoppers you can saddle and ride, Mole Crickets that will eat a lawn over night, Fire ants that feels like you have been set afire if you get into them, Killer bees, Mud Dabbers that will cover your house with mud, Dry wood and subterranean Termites, spiders big enough drain your body with one feeding and mosquitos that gang up on you and try to carry you away.
But we do have blue skies and our trees are all filled out from winter.
Re: FOOLING AROUND WITH CAMERA AT NIGHT
two years ago we had 350 sunny days. The rest had clouds. This becomes a problem, as you have probably heard. Huge drought going on. Last year, we probably had only 300 days of full sunshine.
We all are hoping for rain, but we bitch when it comes.
Haven't had more than 0.75" in one day, in the last few years, that I can remember. Half an inch in a day gives us floods.
A couple weeks ago I bragged about the tree and wild flowers. Well, they all left quickly because of no substantial moisture. Lancaster held a Poppy Festival last week and the only poppies were in pots.
BUT NO MOSQUITOES!
