I want to thank all of you for the prayers and support.

It is working.

Saw the cardiologist today; electrocardiogram. He refers to my incident as a third degree heart block and said that if I experience any further irregularity of heart beat that I will be wearing a pace maker.

Got an appointment with the urologist tomorrow and the gastroenterologist on Thursday.

I'm feeling a little run down after all of the blood loss and transfusions and various other IVs but I am up and around and eating well.

Damn! I wander off for a week for some other stuff and you let things go all to hell... :(
Time to get back on track. Maybe while you recover more you can take up whittling. You know whittling is about the only kind of woodworking where making anything more than a mess is optional. :D Just grab a stick and see if you can injure it or you or both. :)

Just take care of yourself...

Dusty-

Sorry to hear about all the time you are having to spend with the doctors...nice to hear that one of them is giving you good news...Take care of yourself and get back into commission soon. If you're like me, a little down-time like this could be the opportunity to read all those woodworking books waiting patiently on the bookshelf. Get well soon!

Things just got a lot more complicated at our house yesterday afternoon...
My wife has spent much of the last several years taking care of me especially after my open heart quad bypass and some following drug side effects problems.
Yesterday she went to our son's house down the road to give that grandson a ride to a job interview and while there fell and broke her both bones in her lower arm near her wrist. Kind of a nasty break, they just splinted it with what is almost a cast and want her to see a specialist next week after some swelling goes down. The ER Dr. was telling her to expect to need surgery to repair it...

The joys of aging.

Dusty:

Keep the faith and a positive attitude that all will work itself out. You, like many of us, have seen many years pass by so we need to be strong and patient. Also, as indicated earlier, as we get older, men will have some type of prostate problems.

Get well so that you may get back into the shop making sawdust. Enjoy your life whatever it may be. As has been suggested, even if you are not working in the shop, keep posting and sharing your experience and wisdom. We need and appreciate it.

You are in my prayers.

Regards,
Joe

Dusty,
Anything new to report after the last two appointments?
I hope they went well.

The two appointments both brought relatively good news. I may need a pace maker but I can certainly take that in stride. I still have the leaky heart valve but I have had that for many years. Surgery may be in my future but again that has been reality for years. The bleeding colon has stopped. Some restrictions in physical activity remain but that should be temporary. I see that doctor next Thursday. The urologist has changed my medications with hopes of correcting the flow problem. If this does not work, we'll call the roto rooter.

Bottom line - things are looking a LOT better.

NOW we need to turn our attention to farmer's wife. Let us all hope and pray that this turns out well. With a broken wrist, I suspect that one arm is completely out of commission. Not a good condition for an active person. My prayers are with you and yours farmer. May she heal well and fast.
