It goes to show you that there is a bunch of good stuff out there and this maybe one way to share them.
And Gene, the files originally cost $5.95 for a set of six. That from the six page catalog and price list dated 1955 by Magna Power Tool Corporation. So your bid might have been ok back then but not now.

Welcome to the forum!
It seems you may not have been keeping up on happenings with shopsmith for the last some years. They have a online catalog of current products as well as replacement parts and supplies like sanding belts. Here is a good place to start:

I also think it wise not to advertise things for sale as that is against the forum rules. Yea they stretch but lets keep it in check please.

As is all too common nowadays, historical ramblings are not always 'accurate'. Take the e-bay 'history' with a grain of salt!
6 x 48 belts are available from the mother ship(shopsmith...) and at Lowes. Lowes may have the 'shopsmith brand' made by 'gator'.

Great films/movies. He must know some real tricks about would working, never a spec of wood chips on the black shirt.

Just for the record, I did not advertise any of my stuff for sale. The discussions about buying files were started by two others and my response was 'No Thanks'.

Generally true, but check out 1:05 in the lathe section if you want t see his dapper outfit and arms loaded with shavings.
I think people dressed up more in the old days, even when it seems out of place. For instance, I see a lot of coats and ties at the ballpark in vintage pictures and films.
