When I finally do get them apart any suggestions on what to put between them when storing?

Waxed or parchment paper.

That just proves that Forrest blades are indeed perfectly flat as they say. If you have one that is not they will fix it.

Anything that does not let the blade plates to come in intimate contact with each other. Oh, and keep them waxed.

Success with the moving them back and forth vigorously per Dusty's suggestion and once they became harder to slide i was able to pry them apart with my fingers. Thanks for all the help boys.
