Some of our machines required torque wrenches. I found on one very common fastener that if I tiighten the Bristol screw with a Bristol wrench until the tool twisted I had supplied the required torque. Never had a failure contributed to incorrect torquing.

Also Bristol screws almost always stuck on the wrench so they could be placed in inaccessible places. Put the screw on the tool and if you could see where it went and had a wrench long enough to reach it you could get it in. Even the tiniest screw.
