Broken 510 Table

This is what I think is the early 510 rails? If so then this might not be the best choice.

What is "wrong" or less desirable about early rails with holes on the side (access holes for mounting bolts)? I have a 510 with these rails, and can't find a disadvantage. They work smoothly, no catches with the rip fence or extension tubes.

The problem comes if you try to mix old and new, as long as you have all of the same type it's fine. Thus it is less desirable in this case. Make sense?

Combine that with the cost and I don't think this is going to be worth it.

That 145$ table is a mixture of parts. The table is early, the rails are early, the jack screws are later version.

The early rails have thicker tubes(rails) with a smaller id, but the same od.

Not a problem until you insert a connecting tube and attempt to connect it to a later version table rail.

The early jack screws were smaller(finger knurl) but had holes for the SS tool kit that 'allowed' dimpling of the connector tubes.

The newer version has kep nuts under the table(securing the studs on the rails) that can get in the way.
