JPG ya but the way it curves I wonder if to put on the yoke, is it/would it be to far forward? I did not notice if it came with that setup guide.

Forward/backward it does not matter! They be adjustable!

Adjustable to what range? It was made for a DP with the round/pipe tower, not a SS.

The lasers project a vertical 'plane' of light.

Those two lasers are adjusted for the planes intersecting at the drill axis. Likely there is also an adjustment to make the 'vertical' plane the same as the drill axis.

That is why the vertical location of the workpiece does not matter and the distance from the drill axis to the lasers also does not matter.

It’s all most four years after your post about laser you mount on your Shopsmith. Now Shopsmith is sell there Version of laser which I bought and now finding your post too.

I made the same(almost) laser for my dedicated MK V drill press back then. It still works great.

The SS version uses the Wixey laser module which is mechanically defective. Many (most) of them arrive broken. Wixey problem not SS. I sent my SS version back today with a refund and won't buy another one until Wixey fixes the problem.

If you actually get yours before SS stops shipping let us know. Don't open the blister pack. There are ways to tell if it is broken.

Anyone know what brand this drill press laser was back in 2016 when this thread was started? I mean, if I search now, I can only find the Wixey drill press laser attachment. It seems like it is the only brand/model on the market right now. Presumably this is because many drill presses now come with a laser alignment function built in, so perhaps limited market for add-on lasers and Wixey has 100% market share it seems. Those of you that did this upgrade before, is there any company name on the unit you bought in 2016? I believe it was sold by Peachtree Woodworking, but also available on Amazon from Peachtree. However, it doesn't exist on their webpages anymore.

The laser has no ID. Yes it was from Peach Tree and when I went to check they had a picture of it but it is no longer available.

I have seen these in a couple of catalogs, woodcraft and infinity but when I looked they are the Wixey..... They maybe the only game in town now.

Is this unit not essentially identical to the Shopsmith unit (https://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/ite ... tem=504054) for $70? I note that the Shopsmith device still bears the name of the OEM "Wixey", and seems to include an assembly to mount the laser set onto the ways; this is almost worth the extra $30 by itself.
