I would agree with that. Not every suggestion or recommendation is always understood nor addresses the issue but on this site all are well intended. I had not a clue as to what Reuben James meant and didn't want to do the research. BTW who knows who Reuben James was and why 2, not just 1, USS Destroyers have been named for him? Most people only know of the Kenny Rogers song. So, let's keep the recommendations coming and don't be concerned if none are accepted.
Don't know how many downloaded the numerous pdf files I posted and even if those who did found any value in them. I do know that some of you learned something from Reuben James' suggestion and it will be of value to you.
Not everybody here will vote for my (or your) presidential hopeful.
I have downloaded them, and I must say outstanding job! I have opened them all and they all work. I agree, keeping them here will always be a good resource.
Thanks for the effort!

Specifically, why would you use a file sharing service and links in the ShopSmith forum as I suggested and described in the document above? I see a couple of reasons:
2. Somewhat related to the last sentence above, and in response to your question about why you should care about not uploading a bunch of PDFs to the forum and/or why you shouldn't just let Admin care about bandwidth: the answer to both of those questions is courtesy.
Allow me to explain. All things considered, Mother runs a pretty small ...
help keep control of the amount of hard drive space Mother uses on the hosted web servers, and to cut down on the amount of data traffic going through when people are viewing said pictures. Of course, restricting the size also helps to improve the page loading times, which is probably also a consideration taken into account.
For images and normal PDF files, neither storage space, backups, nor bandwidth is likely to be significant to us. We do let YouTube (or similar) host videos, they're better optimized for that.
My concern on image size was for mobile (phone) users. Larger images can be slow to load for some (and some have limited data plans), while few (either desktop or mobile) have screens larger than 1920x1080 in resoultion to receive advantage from larger images.
For information: Even documents without a printed copyright notice are protected by copyright under current US rules. Posting links in the forum doesn't upset me, although obviously more commercial usage would.
