I have no specific reason for why but I do recommend that you install a tie bar on the tubes for your permanent drill press.

Nice job, Farley. I know you will get great service from this. Mine is not dedicated but I use my drill press on a regular basis.

Which is why the triple lever hub stays in storage.

The tie bar will I think provide a small resistance against the way tubes twisting. Also provides an upper vertical stop. Necessary? At the least using it provides a place to 'store' it.

My top tubes have the end cap on it, not shown in pix, as I was still checking to see all was good.
