One of the features that I like the most about the Talon chuck is the Taper Lock adaptors. When the chuck is used on the SS the set screw prevents loosening and there are no threads to unscrew. One way does make a proper adaptor for the SS and I have not had the set screw loosen when I use it on the Shopsmith. I prefer the Taper Lock adaptors to the screw in type. I have two of the Talon chucks, one set up for the SS and one set up for my Delta lathe.
Whichever one you buy first I am sure you will be happy with it.
