I am interested in making a router table. The MDF I have observed being sold in the box store just does not impress me as the material used in the router tables I see for sale from SS, Rockler, Woodcraft, etc. Besides, I am thinking the table should be 3/4 to 1 inch thick, neither of which the box store carries.

So is there some other 'good' MDF for I would use for a table, or do I just glue two pieces of the box store product together? If there is this 'good' MDF, where do you order it from? Can it be obtained in less than full sheets?

You'll most likely not find the same grade of MDF in the Box Stores. Search out a wholesale lumber distributor.

Unfortunately, you'll most likely not find a source that will sell you less than a full sheet. Hopefully, you'll find a source that will cut a sheet for you after you pay for it.

A sheet of 1" MDF of the quality you seek will weigh about 80 pounds. Take someone with you to shop.
