I received a call from Dave on Wednesday ( Sept 1) that my Power Pro was being shipped that day. It arrived yesterday (Friday Sept 3). The package weighs just a fraction under 80 pounds. I have it unpacked ready to install which I hope to do over this weekend. The serial number is 09-01-10.

[quote="nuhobby"] . . .
There is some remaining adjustment to do to find the optimal balance of the 2 belt-tensions working on the idler pulley/shaft]
This is something I have wondered about. I assume the eccentric sleeve has been deleted. (not sure about that!)

Since the shaft separation between the main and idler shaft is fixed, how is top belt tension adjusted. I assume the motor is adjustable relative the the idler shaft.

Whole lotta assuming there! What is reality?????

Just got mine this morning! Wow, what a heavy box! I've unpacked everything to make sure it made the trip in one piece. I scanned the install guide and one thing I noticed is since I have a lift assist installed I will need to buy a stronger strut from Shopsmith to accommodate the heavier headstock. To answer an earlier question on this thread, there is a new eccentric included for the belt adjustment.

I have a houseful of guests for the holiday weekend and I'm afraid that I won't be able to do the upgrade until next week. I'll report anything noteworthy that I run into.

If you are able to measure AC current in the 0-10 milliamp range, measure the current flowing through the grounding conductor(green wire).

GFCI should trip at approx 5 ma.

I be with Ed! Look for a cause!
Just got in a few minutes to check a measurement. The ground-lug current existing when the outlet trips is 2-3mA AC on my little DMM. Needless to say, I've found *no* resistance measurement anywhere near the expected 40-60kOhm leakage. I can't find leakage at all. I'll sit tight on this and hear how others do, before raising any flags. Boy, though, it is a Sweet machine.

It is possible that a capacitor(rf filter) is connected between the frame of the electronics and the 120v ac. These tend to raise havoc with GFCI's. The 2-3ma current tends to confirm this. If possible, I would connect the SS to a non-GFCI circuit. 2-3ma is low to be tripping the GFCI, but higher peak values may be causing it to trip(or it may be too 'sensitive').

As long as it is securely grounded, I would not be concerned with using it on a non-GFCI circuit.

And the reason these 'houseguests' aren't being put up at a hotel while you assemble the prize is???:D

My PowerPro is apparently on a FedEx truck, and won't be delivered until Tuesday.

And it gets even better.... Our 5 month old fridge died last night full of food for the weekend. I'm off to buy ice. Life is an adventure.
