Well, I am now the proud owner of my very first ShopSmith! We went and looked at it yesterday, and it looked like it was in fairly good condition. It has slight rust on the bars and portions of the legs and a few of the parts such as the jointer, but nothing that I shouldn't be able to restore. Our vehicle was big enough that we just took the legs off, but left the motor on the bars and slid the whole assembly in our Honda Pilot. Was pretty painless which was nice.

The ShopSmith's serial # is 101919, which from looking at the list on the website means that it is a model from somewhere in 1973-1978. Am I looking at that correctly?

Unfortunately, I have a thesis I am trying to finish up, so I probably won't be able to do much with the SS until I get that done. Once I get working on it, I am sure I will be back with lots of questions. Thanks for everyone who gave input and suggestions. They are much appreciated!
