When I shipped(usps) an old part to Vancouver Island, I did need to declare what and value.

I shipped a package of parts to a forum member (in Canada) a while back and had no problems at all. The postage was even reasonable. Yes, I filled out a declaration statement; no problem.JPG40504 wrote:When I shipped(usps) an old part to Vancouver Island, I did need to declare what and value.

Ditto for me when I shipped something for a user in Quebec.

There is an e-bay seller in Canada that ships to USA, but the shipping calculator does not work for him. Nevertheless shipping charges have never been expensive(to me anyway).

I would only reconsider JPG if it were a really crazy discount for something I really wanted anything else and I am done with the email specials just not something that left me feeling all warm and cuddly about. I understand the "why's" but that doesn't mean I have to go along with it. I still feel they should not have a special on something that they do not have stock of.JPG40504 wrote:Is it accurate to say the small screwdriver in the hardware bag is for adjusting the throat plate height adjustment screws????
One other scenario not discussed is that back ordering is also quite likely when purchasing it when not a 'special' and the duration of the wait periiod can be much longer than that e-mail special wait.Actually the wait time may have been reduced by the special for anyone already on backorder.
P.S. I hope you will reconsider'this'!
P.P.S. Rethis. You had no need for the extension without the table, so you should have requested them to ship it with the table.
As for the extension table you are correct and i should have just had them ship it with the kit but she said they had it now and I did not want to take a chance of them somehow not having it when it came time to ship the kit. The minor shipping difference isn't an issue as far as i am concerned.

As far as I know. There wood knot be any difference in shipping. They charge ya the total shipping of the kit. If they send part of it, there's no additional shipping charge.

I use to do some retail buying in my day job. "They should have enough if they are going to run something on sale" Well, that's the million dollar question. How much is enough? I use to hear that from customers all the time. How many do you order for a sale knowing that any overstock will kill you more than if you did not run a sale at all.

Does SS have your email address? It shouldn't matter if it is another country to get an email update. If SS doesn't like yours, you may be able to establish one on gmail, ymail, yahoo, etc. Just an idea.dan1999 wrote:You guys are lucky you get to have specials from Shopsmith. They don't even notify me if there is a special, why you ask, because I live in Canada and they won't send anything to us here.
End of pissed off rant ( not at you guys but at Shopsmith)
