When my current shop was built all outlets are three feet off the floor. The first inspector looked at them and asked why are they so high. After the explanation he grinned and confessed he had not read on the permit what the use of the space was to be. Later the inspector for the final electrical inspection noted that he wished his shop had been built that way. Jim

Here in Arizona the code requirements covering residential ac outlets is rather strict. I don't know exactly what they are so I'll not guess.
GFCI requirements are also very strict. All out door outlets must be GFCI protected and that includes those in the garage. My shop circuits are protected in the main breaker box.

Well my gloat was far from as exciting as Dusty's, still it is an item that will allow me to lift those items I am no longer allowed to. Check out the gift they delivered this evening

I don't know about that. That would look awfully good in my shop too. Did you leave one behind?
