Status taxes 2011 done or not?

Ah Ha, I finally reached a live voice. Still can't believe answer. Last year they mailed to the new address. Somehow they changed our address back to the two year old address. I must confess I cannot believe how many issues I have encountered with this latest move and getting address changes to stick. The person I spoke with today explained that just because I changed the address with one department within their company does not mean all other departments should be expected to make the change as well. That is the LEAST I would expect! Are they operating out of shoe boxes?

An additional tax in Florida is the lottery. I don't and have never played it as I opposed it outright from the beginning. It was supposed to help schools, but when I look at my local property taxes, about 70% of the property tax is designated to support schools. Also, what is interesting, when a child picks up their need sheet for each semester, they have X number rolls of toilet paper, rolls of paper towels, kleenexes, book covers and other items that used to be furnished in my day. Citizen, beware of politicians and their false promises. Just spend and tax the average joe to make it up.

Okay if we are talking politics and politicians I will pose the question of the ages. How can we the people possibly feel comfortable electing a president in the worst possible economic times when both candidates expect to blow a Billion dollars apiece to be elected. If we the people demanded they be taxed 50% minimum on all political dollars raised and that money be used to help those out of work, who would run for office.

I feel the need to add to my 1099 comments. When the Obama crew passed the new health care law a basic change began to occur in health insurers mode of operation. With the new profit limitations imposed by the law all carriers began thinning out the number of employees. From my prospective it seems to take two or three times longer to accomplish the same issues. Errors seem to be far more common and in house communication seems to more uncommon. These are difficult times for all of us.

You did not respond correctly!

You were supposed to give up and 'go away' so that action need not be taken and operating costs thus reduced.

All too common nowadays. It does not work with me either, but I get so GD frustrated when I encounter it. Seems you always have point out to 'CS' people that their canned 'transparent' answers are not answering the questions. Amazes me that they cannot comprehend such a simple fact that they are not actually providing answers. After all they are 'following direction' from 'above'! Therefore their 'answer' must be correct!

We have a CPA do ours, due to the complexity of our rentals, grandma's live in care giver and all that entails. It costs us a good bit, but I suspect it is cheaper than hiring a tax lawyer to keep us out of Jail. My Bride , who is also the CFO of the family, has all the stuff there and we are supposed to get it back in 2 weeks. I love sending the forms to the IRS, with ladies card attached. Her last name is Cass, and her business card says Sue " MaMa" Cass! I hope some one sees the it, not just a computer. On the other hand, if a human ever sees it I will get audited for sure.

For what is is worth, I share many of your frustrations over many of the same things. Most of this will mean very little to me, but I worry about the kids and grandkids.

Proposed by Congress in 1909, Ratified February 1913. This was one of the major pieces of the Progressive movement which died for all intents and purposes in April, 1917 when we declared war.

So the next chapter in locating 1099's. The person who promised to email copies yesterday. Inadvertently recorded the email address incorrectly. I did receive a return call today from a prior request of the same call center. The lady was most apologetic and did in fact email copies of the 1099's so that we can at least begin the process. I still need to await the "corrected" versions as those received today contain incorrect address's. So customer service is not yet deceased. As to who will be big losers on health care reform. The assumption future generations will suffer is correct. What no one is willing to discuss is how many Americans are suffering now as a result of job loss and government mandated reduction of income from within the health insurance industry. Yet not one fat cat company CEO will lose a dime, nor will one fat cat politician suffer.
