I have been looking for one of these to set up as a stand alone drill press. But this one is 80 miles away, a little too far for me. Looks like a great deal for someone.

I certainly would not let 80 miles stop me for that price. Besides you get a 10ER in the bargain with the speed changer. I guarantee you will never get a speed changer for less money including the gas.

Yes, you're right. But, I just checked and the listing has already been deleted. Either someone got a really good deal, or the seller figured out what he/she really had and pulled the listing. I'll keep looking.

Oh well, maybe next time. When you see a bargain like that jump on it now.

Not that I need one; I reduced my machine-hunting after going to the Power Pro 5 years ago this Labor Day weekend :) .

Wonder where the rest of the lathe duplicator is?

There are still outstanding Shopsmith buys on Craig's List in Florida. A 510 with bandsaw and jig saw for $175 just 3 miles from me this week. My wife had the car shopping when I called so he said he would bring all the parts outside his garage and I could pick them up when my wife returns. An hour later, he calls me and said his neighbor saw the pile of Shopsamith stuff and asked about it. Paid him cash right then as they had been friends for years. Maybe I can sell the new owner some parts. As I have said in the past, You must be able to go immediately with cash money when you see these bargains listed. I still cannot turn these bargains down even through I have no more room for them. I would have to cover the Shopsmith with a tarp as I had done last year until I could find room inside my shop.

Hi Bill,

How are you doing? I certainly agree with you about not refusing a bargain. That is why I have five 10ERs here. However I disagree with the person that had the SS stuff. You called and were first in line. The person should have honored that. His neighbor could not been that close of a friend if he didn't know that the SS stuff was available. A lot of people just don't have any integrity any more.

JSBurger I agree, since I posted my ER quill question I found on CL a SS band saw on a stand with its own motor for $100 in Milwaukee, Wi, I live in Appleton, WI, 87 miles away, did a gentleman's agreement, will pick it up tomorrow by noon, I have done that b4, unfortunately, when I do that, I do not negotiate price, because I figure if they trust me to show up and I trust them to hold there end of the agreement it is a done deal unless I negotiated the price b4 hand. And this was/is a great price since most SS band saws go used for about 175 without being a free standing model.
