The power switch on my 520 is failing in a very dangerous way. It is sometimes hard to turn off and is sometimes like a hair trigger when turning on. So, tomorrow I am off to Home Depot to get one of the recommended replacement from this thread.
A question though: As I have not yet removed the existing switch, I am wondering about the mounting of a switch like this one. Is the headstock designed for the standard 1/2" mounting or will I need some sort of mounting adapter?

You will need some kind of a mounting adapter, because the toggle switch will fall thru the mounting hole in the Shopsmith.
