Quick Help: Buying Used 10-ER Model

Thanks for the info. Yeah, you get what you pay for, but I can still buy decent standard sandpaper without paying proprietary prices for adhesive disks this way.

How easily does the paper come off when you use the 3M stuff? I was worried it'd be too strong.

Hey guys, I'm looking at the Barracuda Lathe Chuck.
At 8 lbs, do you think it's gonna be too heavy for my 10-ER?

I have the Barracuda 2 (Keyed version of the Barracuds which uses tommy bars)

I'm very pleased with it and the SS Handles it great.

You'll have to get a 5/8's plain adapter for it.

Yeah, I'll be picking up that adapter. Nobody does 5/8" smooth bore stock...

What? Nonono, PSI makes an adapter that's 5/8" smooth bore to 1" x 8tpi, which is the body thread of the Barracuda. I just meant that nobody makes chucks that go straight on the shopsmith spindle. Chucks, or anything else, that is.

Almost if knot ALL chucks need some kind of adapter to fit the various thread configurations.

I had one with the PSI 5/8" adapter and used it on my 10ER. I liked the chuck alot and I would still have it except that I lucked into a couple of Stronghold chucks. You might check Amazon as they often sell at the same price as PSI with free shipping.
