Very well thought out and demonstrated. I can see where this makes for an excellent production jig. All of my circle cutting jigs have been limited in size and did not produce that "perfect circle". I learned to cut large and take it to the belt sander.

Thank you for taking the time to prepare this presentation and for sharing your expertise. I know that the information presented here will be very helpful.

That project inspired me to do another I have been planing.





I start out with these 2x6’s with 2 sets of marks. My correct ones and the wrong ones done by the camera man.




This is where things started going down hill. I thought my drill bit was slipping and I kept tightening the chuck and resetting the depth.







Turns out the table was slipping instead. Man this Shopsmith stuff must be real junk. I have only used this thing (almost daily) for 12 years. I cant believe I am having to work on it. Oh well I guess I can stop saving up for that new Mark 7.







Never mind. About a half turn on this lock nut and we are back in business.







You may have noticed that I moved the 520 to the center of the shop. I knew this was going to be a messy job. Notice though I am using a 12 gauge extension cord. I point this out for those that may be new and don't realize that these machines are not designed to run on the more common light gauge extension cords. I have burned up a lot or tools over the years on job sights where there wasn't adequate power available. An then there was the time I burned up 2 battery drill chargers and an almost new hand held electric planer because some IDIOT ran 220 to all the 110 temporary service.

I would still love to come to work with you in your shop. Room and board and the learning experience would be sufficient.
