I have seen all of my doctors subsequent to my hospital stay. They have all given me the go ahead to get back to normal living. Now all I have to do is convince my wife that they were not all wrong. My target - making saw dust by Saturday.

I have band saw blades and sanding belts to mount and test and five sheets of plywood paneling to cut to size for the RV.

Time is wasting. It won't be much longer and it will be too hot in that trailer to work after about 9:00am. The last three weeks were ideal (weather that is).

I want to thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers.

Great news Dusty. I don't know if your wife is a wood worker but mine is and I would have a problem convincing her to let me in the shop after what you went through.

On average, active woodworkers outlive sedentary people by 7.3 years. See what your wife thinks of that statistic!

By the way, I have absolutely no reference source or data to back up that statistic. But it sounds about right!

I may not get to work in the shop real soon but we are going out for lunch today - to my favorite Mexican Restaurant. She made me promise that I would not try to eat all of the chips and sausa that they will bring to the table. I did promise. Not all of them. I will leave some.

When I lived in Tucson the last time (84-end of 89), I frequented Sanchez Burritos, usually the fast food place not too far from DM, but also the restaurant they had a bit further away.

Now, about those chips & salsa... I believe that two could be construed as "some"

Diana's arm has been a source of major frustration to her since she works like a chipmunk much of the time. She has been in a good bit of pain at times. She broke it on April 1rst and she is still in a holding pattern. They did re-splint it this week and have her scheduled for surgery on Monday. Going to put in a plate and some screws. She will be in rehab on Thursday. The ER splint had her elbow unmovable but the new splint lets it bend. That has been a big improvement for her. She is learning new tricks to get things done by herself especially getting dressed (I still have to tie her shoes). On a side note... I have been helping her dress and right from the start I discovered a limit of mine. When it comes to a bra I have had no experience ever in my life in putting one "on" anybody.

Now a footnote: Everybody that is not aware of it should Google "Factor V Leiden" and do a quick read, Mayo Clinic or Johns Hopkins are good sources. We knew nothing about it but after one of our daughters nearly died recently from a large blood clot that formed in an immobilized leg being treated for something else moved and left her with multiple blood clots in both lungs a neighbor mentioned it to us. The neighbor had lost about 3 family members to post operative blood clots before they found that her family carried the gene mutation (only about 5% of people). We had Diana tested and found that she was positive for the gene. The surgeon is and will be taking appropriate actions to be ready for any possibility of a problem. Many GP doctors are a little lax about it but the surgeons take it quite seriously.

Diana's broken arm surgery went without any hitches this morning.
She starts rehab Thursday...
It's been a long day.
