OK, it just does not happen, it is caused somehow.

The question is how, not that it supposedly does.

ER - A single point support places greater stress upon the blade than supporting it with two separated by a distance roughly equal to it's natural shape. Overkill? Perhaps, but true none the less. When coiled there are three loops taking the stress not just one.

I'm guessing it is caused by uncoiling the blade the opposite way it was coiled.
Not that hard of a fix.
