Lets say your garage is your shop, and in a new house, unless you specify a 20amp dedicated circuit, by the Uniform Building Code you are going to get a 15 amp and it does not need to be a dedicated circuit by the UBC.

If the drive sleeve is too far to the left but the belt is running true and not cocked then the idler shaft would also have to be too far to the left. Agree?
BTW left and right are as viewed fro the operator's position.

The belt is also too far 'forward/to the right'(second groove). Condition on control sheave/eccentric location unknown at this point.

JPG, as I await the part to come in on my machine, I wanted to check in with you on the stop/start procedure.
It sounds as though it is NOT necessary to turn the control to slow,before turning off but more importantly to make sure the speed control is no t moved while the motor is off.

Also, when I put it all back together wouldn't be best to have the sheaves in the slowest position.I am going to see if there is a Sawdust Session on this task before I start the put back.

You will need to be at 'fast' to install the motor belt on the motor pulley.

Ditto slipping the clip over the porkchop arm.

One clarification. When stopped for the day(or when about to move the SS) it is best so set to near slow. It is possible for the control sheave to move and allow the belt to drop too far into the idler pulley if set near fast.

And another - Move sedately towards slow to give the floating sheave time to react to the belt being squeezed by the control sheave. Adjusting towards fast is ok(the control sheave is loosening the belt), but not so fast as to pull on the loop.
