Hi, nice job on the restore. I have done just what you did. The rear table bracket (in your third picture) is upside down. Unbolt it and rotate it around with the bump up and it will correct the problem. If it is still off a little you can use shim washers but they are rarely needed.

After reading this string I noticed this subject has not come up yet. The attached PDF is a supplement I made for the Model 10 Manual about waxing and not using oil on the way tubes and other similar parts.

Awesome! Thank you so much for catching that!

I waxed the tubes and it worked great. I did a decent amount of reading before taking this on and I’m pretty happy with how it all worked out.

I also got the motor installed. Nothing really wrong with the original motor, I just wanted a variable speed and I enjoy tinkering, so this is my treadmill motor and controller I put together. I still need to get the tach sensor installed.

Can the pulleys be turned around so the belt cover can attach to the headstock? I am guessing you have one since you found a nice replacement for the bolt that holds it on.

Does the link belt rub on the tubes or is it just very close? It's hard to tell from the angle in the picture. I was just curious.

I have a cover but haven’t even tried to put it on. I didn’t know that orientation would effect its fit, but that makes sense.

The motor was pulled from a “broken” treadmill. The motors were in great shape, so I snatched them up. The only negative is that the output shaft was half threaded/half smooth. I ended up finding a v-belt pulley on eBay. The pulley I bought was a smooth/keyed pulley with a mounting screw on the largest diameter step, which locked me into mounting it is this orientation. I carefully dremeled a keyway into the shaft and mounted the pulley - no issues so far.

The belt doesn’t rub but it’s close. I’m happy with the setup so far... but I still have to mount some filters on the controller box to keep the cooling fans from pumping dust into the box. I also need to mount a fax to the rear output shaft of the motor, since most treadmill motors rely on the flywheel fins for cooling.

Obviously this isn’t the safest setup (mounting a mismatched pulley to a motor that wasn’t designed for it) but I’m comfortable with it and I plan on keeping this 10er for life. I’m also the only person that ever uses this tool, so I’m comfortable with the safety issues. I also kept the original motor and speed changer, so I can go back to the factory setup anytime.

Edit: picture of motor attached. These were some pulleys I had on hand but didn’t end up using. Edit again: Apparently I forget what’s already been discussed in my own thread. Sorry for the redundancy.
