Also wanted to add that I do very much believe it is in the headstock.
When running at high speeds with nothing attached, there is slight vibration. With the saw blade attached with either the 1 1/4" arbor or 5/8" arbor and running at high speeds, vibration increases by quite a bit.
From a physics standpoint, it makes sense.
Small perturbations become larger perturbations as you move farther from the spinning force.
We'll see once the poly-v belt is replaced. If it is still a big issue, then I will likely have to find other sources.
Dusty, any thoughts on what other sources could be causing the issue if a change out of the poly-V belt proves fruitless? I have everything secured and locked tight when I have everything running. 5 point check completed so I am having a hard time figuring out what other sources would lead to so much vibration. As stated, all four legs/feet firmly planted on concrete flooring.

You seem to have thought this out quite thoroughly. No, no extra thought. Just make sure that there is nothing coming loose (not likely). Also that the shafts all seem to be turning true. The belts in good condition and with proper tension.
All of this after you are convinced that it is in the headstock.
Unusual world we live in. About half of my second career in industry, I was an environmental test engineer. We tested items that were eventually going into space. My job was to shake it, bake it, vibrate the day lights out of it, drop it and throw it trying to make it come apart. Now I am guessing about why it might be vibrating.

You are seeking to reduce vibration; I realize that. I had a noise that I could not identify. I thought it was vibration. Well, actually it was but I am sure a lot different than what you have. I could not feel it.
Then, one day, I realized what it was. It was my steel sanding disk, stored on the wooden accessory shelf, and just barely touching the tubes. Any time the machine was on, I had this buzzing, rattling sound. What a relief it was.

An easy fix for your issue!

. I think it is surely the not knowing of what is causing the noise which can cause more angst than the noise itself.
I have my fingers crossed it is simply an old tired and 'set' poly v belt which is the issue and not something else like a bent shaft or worn bearings.

Reading your posts maybe I missed something but you may try! Use a steel rod or something similar put it lightly in your ear and touch the other end to the head stock in the area where the main shaft bearings are. If you hear any kind of rumbling like sounds, you have a bearing problem. also check the bearing housing where the eccentric bearing is located.

Hey Don,
I'll give it a listen. I have three headstocks in the shop now so I'll see if there are any major differences between them. I hope the chance of having all three headstocks with bad bearings is low.
Oh, and a bit off topic, what is the simplest way to check to see whether you have a single or double bearing quill?

The only way I know of is to "Look" at it, which means take it partially apart. Maybe JPG knows a better way??
By the way, referring to the previous suggestion, you might also remove the quill and run it to determine that you don't have a problem with quill bearings.

I have a piece of 1 1/2" diameter wooden closet rod I use for the same thing.

I never tried a wood dowel, but if it works, I will try it. I have been meaning to get a stethoscope but just never got around to it. You can get one at harbor freight for $ 3.99
