The photos at the beginning of the listing show the fence out of square with the table.

Centering is easy. The blade cuts an 1/8-inch kerf. The wood is 3/4-inch thick.
3/4 - 1/8=5/8-inch
5/8 / 2= 5/16-inch

Fence distance = (W − K) / 2

Where:
W = Thickness of the wood
K = Width of the saw kerf

So 5/16 is how far you need to set the fence/jig away from the fence.

I use a 5/16 setup block to precisely set the distance. They are much more precise than using a tape measure or ruler.

Yup, it really doea sound easy. Now all you have to do is find a saw blade whose kerf is .125" and a board that is .750" thick and then position the fence just the right distance from the blade OR adopt the "close enough for government work" approach.

I already have the saw blade, and my setup blocks make it easy to get the fence set near perfect.

Truth of the matter is that at age 87 with macular degeneration (wet in one and dry in the other) I am lucky to detect a 1/8" deviation.

Sorry to hear that. I had an epiretinal membrane (also called a macular pucker) on my retina that was repaired by surgery. During that process, they told me I also had macular degeneration. If that eye were still messed up, I probably wouldn't be able to see it with my naked eye.
