Perhaps I overstated reality. It requires some force to get the belt off the sheave(pulley). Requires pulling hard in a small space.

I bet he did not like it on the belt housing. It interfered with taking the cover off. I like all that stuff being in one assembly(the motor housing). If possible, a bit higher WOULD be 'better'(easier to get to).

I first installed the switch on the belt housing, but then realised that if I wanted to remove the belt housing I would have to disconnect the wires to the switch, or increase the length of them to allow the housing to be pulled away. Where it is now keeps the wiring from the motor to the switch short and does not have to be disconnected each time. Although it looks "harder to find" it is not. I find that if I drop my left hand down while working on the saw table the switch is just at the right height. The red OFF button protrudes proud of the casing and is very easy to hit if necessary.
