This looks wrong to me because I think all the controls should be available from one location, in this case the 'front' of the tool. With the wheel lifts in the back I can see someone (me) being tempted to go ahead and make the cut even if it is on the wheels, you know, it's only one cut. What could happen. Then I get a ride to put back three of my thumbs cause I cut them off.

The carriage is the dead giveaway, along with the straight handle table height adjustment. These are unique to the 500. The current "basic" model (which they don't call the 500 anymore) now has the larger table and the round table height handwheel. I'm not sure when they stopped shipping the old 500-style table and carriage, but I would think by the time the C headstock was shipping, it was the 510 style table that came with it (correct me if I'm wrong).

On an unrelated item - I reversed the casters on my MV because it was a bit awkward to get my foot under the accessory shelf to hit the levers, and much harder to press them from an angle. I find it much easier to walk around the MV to get easy access to the casters.

I rarely do anything with any of my SS's up on the wheels but I seem to recall a few folks here that mentioned using their SS's up on the wheels a lot of the time. Different strokes.
