Bandsaw blades keep falling off -HELP ME PLEASE!

Picky details:

The back of the blade should ride about 1/4" from the rim(the cant determines that).

The back of the blade is guided on to the wheels by the upper(rear) guide bearing(s) and the lower(front under the table) guide bearing.

'We' have historically determined cant by the straight edge method, but AIUI SS uses the observation above.

So if it's canted correctly, the blade should just, kinda, show up about 1/4 inch from the rim?

And I'd asked how much cant... duh, the straight edge test IS the measure... when the straight edge is 1/8 to 1/4 inch from the lower wheel, the cant is correct, right?

Actually about 1/4" from the back edge of the tire.

The rear guide bearing(s) position the back of the blade relative to the casting. The cant positions the upper wheel relative to the casting. When correct the blade rides about 1/4" . . .

Well, checked the wheels. They were co-planer. A straight edge laid across the top wheel's rims (a tad off center, so as not to hit the hub) fell straight on to the lower wheel's rims.

I grabbed the top and bottom of the upper wheel, pushed the top back, bottom forward and checked again. Repeated until I got the straight edge a bit more that 1/8 inch away from the top rim of the lower wheel.

I've ordered new tires, we'll see how it turns out in a few days.

One thing... the auto-track bearing, near the tension adjustment has a groove in the middle. Actually, it's two bearings, the groove is where they meet, or so's my understanding... Is the blade supposed to ride in the groove? Or specifically not ride in the groove? Or does it ... ride where it rides?

Well, I ordered the urethane tires, and received them, and this evening put them on. Not the easiest thing. Set them in hot tap water, should've been about 110 degrees, about 10-15 minutes. Pulled on out, stretched it. Put the tire's weld on the wheel. Put vise grips on the wheel at that point. Draped the tire over the wheel, about half way round. One hand on each side, pinky side on the wheel, trying to keep the tire on the wheel. Thumb side with index finger trying to stretch it down around the tire... Took a few tries but I go t it. Then I went around making sure that the tire was pushed up against the wheel rim.

Anyway, when last I posted, I'd twisted the upper wheel a bit until the wheels weren't co-planer. Straight edge across the upper was about 1/8 inch from the upper part of the lower wheel.

And then... after about 8 days of the BS standing with no blade, no tensiion... the wheels are co-planer again!

I guess I need to twist it again, put the blade on, tension it and leave it be for a bit (or actually use it ;-) ) and keep checking that the upper wheel is canted.
