For attaching a jig to a fence, what does it matter? If I had a 520 fence, I would not think twice, but I do not and so think an alternative at this point more achievable.

Red, I cannot argue your position given your current situation. Yet as a 520 owner who has attached jigs using a fastener that lacked an ideal fit and messed up a valued part for a project, I prefer to take the safest route to a perfect outcome. No offense intended simply my feelings given our varied positions in this instance. Jim

Microjig makes some that are designed to fit the Shopsmith, they are plastic and Rockler sells them.

Thanks all. I picked up a set of the Universal Fence Clamps from Rockler yesterday and they will do the job just fine. Also, FWIW, Rockler had a sale on 12" wooden clamps, they were $3 and change. Not a bad price at all.

Also, I am fortunate to have both a Rockler and Woodcraft store within 5 miles of my house, so I did a little looking on the web sites to see if Woodcraft had a set of fence clamps and make a decision which to get. Yes, they did have a set, but they did not look to be near as well constructed as Rocklers, and they were wanting $10 MORE than Rockler wanted.

Since you use them I do believe they fit the Shopsmith t-track but I was unable to find where they reference Shopsmith in their advertisement.

I did however find reference to a 3/4" miter track which does not describe the Shopsmith miter track. I'll just have to invest and see for myself. I've got a couple projects in mind where they could work real well.

Shopsmith reference is in the description of the Zero Play Miter Bar:

"Simply push against the ends of the guide bar within a standard (3/4“ x 3/8”) miter slot or a Shopsmith miter slot and lock the width by securing the three button-head screws with a supplied hex key."

I bought one of the miter bars from Woodcraft, and it works very well.
