I forgot to say the greenie is now a shorty for that purpose only.

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)

ERLover wrote:Beave, I feel your pain bro, I love SS with how they are built and ease to maintain, and variable speed, my first a greenie, I had to put belts and bearings on, with the help here was cheap and effortless. Now it is a shorty with a belt sander on one end, and disk on the other, or some horizontal boring. I will be honest, unless I had a more modern one and not a dedicated TS I would not use one for that, but for all else are a great multi machine.
I love my SS 520, and the 500 dedicated drill press is awesome. There are always some issues with any tool. I honestly thought about buying it just to restore it. But, instead I will let someone else get some great use out of it. I wouldn't be so generous if it had a lathe duplicator though. lol But that isn't a 10er piece.

With a reserve value, I doubt if the seller will take less than $1000. I will contact him to let them know that Shopsmith service is available by Dec 1 in Florida.

ERLover wrote:Beave, JPG as always right on, but did not know what you have, my ER dedicated DP with a speed changer is so good on the low speed end, 400 ish RPM, a Mark is 700. But you can add a DC motor to it, 0-2000 rpm, still thinking about that 4-500$ for one.
JPG 'knew', but fergit until he mentioned it. :o

How did that final bid at $100? I wish I was in Florida. Could have just asked what reserve was and if decent, paid that
