Here's an idea for another change - assuming you would care. Your extension table is perfectly functional as is and doesn't need changing, however Paul's centrally located pin to hold the legs is a good suggestion. And--- here's another - It would be nice if you could put a facing board across the front edge. This would hide the frontal edge grain of the plywood and also the ugly stained wood.

To do this you will need to put both legs to the rear of the edge. To do that, just add a spacer in the right, inside corner. The spacer should be the same thickness as the legs. Now, attach the presently outside leg to the inside. It will fold up inside of the left leg, but will lock nicely with the long bolt Paul has recommended.

Now you can make a thin strip of 3/4" wood to use as facing for the sides.

Revision B in process. Expected completion.....7-02-10.

I love this design, the swing out peg board and not the outfeed type table. This is turning in to quit a useable woodworking bench. Love it.

Now I remember it was to say now the out feed table. This is turning into quite a project. Might be slow but I finally get there.

Old timers is when it happens quite often. Some timers is when it only happens on rare occasions.

Great idea Chuck. Looks better AND it also eliminates the concern noted by shipwright with undue stress on the legs when the table top is in the down position. Now, the leg previously free hanging from the front of the face board lays on the opposite leg.

This also eliminates the need for the center bolt through both legs and the face. They way it is now, it opens easily using your hand to hold the legs up until the table top is in the raised position. Then, it's just a matter of unfolding the legs.

Still need to work on the facing to hide the edge of the plywood AND I want to add reinforcement to the sides of the table.

For sure I have the old timers setting in. I am working on the house. Started to clean the carpet then decided it was too old to clean, tore it out. Then decided to paint while the carpet was out. Then decided to put tile in the kitchen and paint it also. Put the house in storage. Tore up all the carpet in front room, dining room and hallways. Took tile up in kitchen, entry way and laundry room and bought hardwood floors, ceramic tile and started painting and laying tile. I keep forgetting which project I am working on and where I left me tools. Oh I got a Job offer and excepted it right after I tore all this out. Now I have to start back to work on wednesday and the house has cement floors in the main living area. So guess how I am spending my 4th?
