So I can. I don't think this showed the first time I looked but maybe.

522741 Idler Shaft......................... 0 ............ 39.99............ 0.00
515616 Eccentric Bushing................ 1 ............ 27.29.......... 27.29
504179 Ring-Retaining 9/16"............. 1 ............. 0.80............ 0.80
504189 Clip-Sheave Ret.................. 1 .............. 0.80........... 0.80
501320 Key-Short.......................... 1 .............. 1.46........... 1.46

Isn't that ironic. It took nine days to determine that the main item on my order was not in stock.

Thanks. I did that. Now I don't have to wait for the partial order to arrive.

I ordered the Tekna Tool/Nova lathe centers in March and I have not received them as yet. I was told by CS and a Nova rep at the Tampa woodworking show that when the order was recieved from the foreign manufacturer they were all defective and new ones had to be ordered. (Anyone want to venture a guess as to what foreign manufacturer?):rolleyes
I hope I can get them before I give a lathe class at our local woodworking club. I was told by SS that the paperwork for these orders was sent to Tampa and Nova. I am wondering if SS can provide a phone number for Nova CS so we can check directly with them. Anyone else order these items?

Thats sort of frustrating. Overall I'm impressed with their products but hope its not the same issue with the Teknatool produced DVR. The centers should be a normal high quality mass produced piece with an easy go / pass - no go / reject quality check. Makes me feel uneasy what might fail in a DVR in 10 years or whats available in parts.

The quality of my old New Zealand produced Nova scroll chuck is perfect vs. my later Super Nova. For the later Super, not sure if its a china made but the finish looks and feels cheaper and has a bit of runout even after twice changing the factory inserts. I can work with it as it's not as critical for wood turning but if this was for metal turning, that chuck would be in a landfill.

I also have a 60 year old Union Made (New Britan - USA) metal chuck with a 5/8 smooth bore and its a jewel of precision even after all these years.

Perhaps you should skip the order and go for some quality US produced MT2 centers. Easy to find all over the net.

This is probably frustrating to no one other than me but hopefully someone can enlighten me.

How does one determine the tracking number these days? I have two outstanding purchase orders. One is back ordered and I have called to determine its status. The status of the other is "Shipped".

In days gone by, when an item was shipped, Shopsmith sent an email so informing you and that email revealed a tracking number. Not so on this order.

How does the system work these days? Is there a tracking number available?

I thought we were still sending emails, but when I checked I found the answer to your "How does the system work these days" question to be "it doesn't". :(

From a quick check, it looks like the part of our system that makes tracking numbers available was accidentally broken at some point in the past. I'll make sure it gets fixed within a few days.

Thank you very much for your very timely response and the reassurance that wasn't just loosing it.

At my age that starts to become a major concern.
