Says paint remover. Same product?
Seems like an odd thing to call something that's gauranteed not to remove paint?

I think Lowes has it listed as paint cleaner (not remover). Don't really know what paint cleaner is, but yeah it's the right stuff. Label on the bottle says rust remover.

No idea as to why but that is what it says. Maybe some pencil pushers didn't understand what the product is.
BTW I checked again tonight and it is still not carried in any of my local stores. I'm wondering if those that found it can still find it? Close out? or just a super sale?

The Lowes just off of my homeward commute was selling Evapo-Rust for $2.24 per quart, if memory serves, a couple of weeks ago. I drove a bit out of my way to buy 4 quarts for $1.12 each at a different store. Just for bragging rights, I think .. the extra gas and time more than consumed the savings. Lowes.com now shows a price of $3.59 per quart, but no stock in any Columbus stores.

I bought a quart at my local Lowes just 4 weeks ago. It was on the regular shelves with no indication that it was a closeout and I only paid $1.80 for it.
Harbor Freight has the big can for around $25, but then again I didn't look to see if it was the 3.5 or 5 gal. can.
There does seem to be a big difference in price both between stores and regionally. Not sure why this would be.

Do you have a Harbor Freight store nearby?

I'll add another vote for The Amazing Evaporust!
I became a believer when I saw it do overnight what over six months of continuous soaking with PB Blaster and Liquid Wrench couldn't do when trying to free the rusted piston of a 1924 hit and miss engine.
Here in northern VA, Tractor Supply usually has the gallon size jugs cheaper than Harbor Freight.
PS: my wife just crawled into bed beside me, started reading over my shoulder, looked at me and asked "you have a peanut butter blaster?!" I'll never look at that can the same way again.

Now you've gone and infected the rest of us! (Says the guy who hasn't eaten peanut butter since 1961.

I just found it from Lowes in Wilmington... $0.67 a quart... I bought 8.
By the way, new to the forum (today)... been reading stuff since the weekend when I brought my dad's 1981 machine home for me to work on. Has some rust (hence the evapo-rust), and I'm really excited about beginning the project.
