New Shop - Essential Tools?

Getting back toward the title of this thread.

To me personally "Essential Tools" is pretty much anything I see that I want badly enough to buy...

Note that I didn't say anything about being able to afford to buy everything I see that I want.

My general rule of thumb is to buy one new tool for every new project. They aren't always big or expensive, mind you. It's been a good way to build up the collection over the years. Generally though , the bigger the project, the bigger the new tool. I recently upgraded from a 10“ miter saw to a 12" for the shop build. Would have been a framing nailer if my father in law hadn't already given me one awhile ago

Shop update - what we got done this last weekend. Weather was great - overcast, mid 70's, lower humidity. Made building fun!
