Hi Everyone,

First, I would like to thank everyone who has responded to this thread I started. It seems to be very strong subject and I am glad to read all of the responses.

Second, just a reminder that when I started this thread I was talking about "ALL" of the Incra products that Shopsmith offers. It seems that most of the discussion has been put towards using the Incra router table tools. I haven't read anything about the Incra measuring tools. I have them and others that Shopsmith doesn't offer yet. But that can be a whole other posting, or even a whole new thread. Will see.

It has also been suggested that a Sawdust Session be created showing the use of router table system. This would be great, but other Sawdust Sessions can show the following:
1. The Incra TSIII fence being used as the table saw fence.
2. The Incra Miter Gauge in action.
3. The Incra Cross-cut Sled 5000.
And let's not forget...
4. The Incra measurement/layout tools.
A complete Sawdust Session can be made just on the importance and correct layout and measuring your project pieces, using all types of layout/measurement tools. Not just Incra rulers, etc.

This thread I started has gotten quite a response, and that is what I was hoping for. It has created more feedback than I thought it would. It is great to get this much feedback from everyone about this subject. I appreciate all of your postings and I hope it keeps on running. It makes great reading and I hope it has helped educate others about the Incra products. I know I've learned quite a bit.

To those who have posted saying they have the Incra tools but haven't gotten them out the boxes yet, I say...
"What are you waiting for".
Get those tools in use. I know when you first get them they might seem a little intimadating, but they really aren't. Afterall, wasn't your first experience using a table saw or router. You have to start somewhere.

Again, thanks to everyone who has responded to this thread.:D

I haven't been able to justify (for me) the fancy new hardware- yet- but way back when I got my 500 and upgraded to 510 I also picked up Incra's "New" tools-- the Incra Guage and a couple of the Incra Jigs. I set up the Jigs with a base and a fence and use it on the Main or Ext table, depending on the size of the work.
Accuracy and esp. repeatability are terrific, for a wee percentage of the cost. Of course comparatively primitive to use (they should come with C-clamps) they are nonetheless easy, quick and precise for most things ("micro-adjust" amounts to adding Monopoly money or playing cards).

But then I got the SS version of the Kreg band saw fence.

Wholly moly, as soon as I figure out which one of the jazzier Incra pieces to get I believe I will place the order. It is so much fun to make something from a plan, then after a month and many setup changes later, go back to the same dialed-in settings and make an exact copy! And no C-clamps!

Hm, now I'm afraid that without the constant challenge of getting the setup "just so" it may not be as much fun.
...............

Nah.
