My FIL was an official "Lucky Bastard", having survived 30+ missions over enemy territory as a B-17 belly-turret gunner. (Average life expectancy was maybe a dozen missions for that job, and only seven for the tail gunner). Signed by my FIL, several of his fellow crew members, and Rosie Rosenthal, a highly decorated group leader.

My wife doesn't truly appreciate it.

But I do.
Oh BD I have the camera battery on the charger for Dusty but will get a Pic of Dads print meeting up, he got out his flight, mission book, oil fields over the Bulgarian area to the westnorthof Germany for that mission. With his Dementia at the end, he could tell every mission target, alternate and where they did it and altidude.

Haven't posted much lately. We drove from our home in AZ to VA for a wedding, then to DC for 4 days. Now, we're in Southern Illinois for wife's 50th class reunion tonight.
Hope to be in OK tomorrow. Then HOME two days later. We need some DRY heat. I grew up here and had forgotten that clouds here actually foretell the advent of rain..and rain...and rain.
Waiting in the shop is a Morris chair to get a finish and another one to assemble. Then, two rifle cases and a bunch of canes for vets. That'll keep the SS humming til Christmas.

BD it was painted by another B26 Path Finder Squadron Leader on that big mission, therapy I guess, dad was in on it, one of the biggest day time high altitude bombing raids in the war. Dad said after take off over the Channel they all met up, took almost 30 minutes, B26, B17. No Umbrella Cover all the way. To hit those oil fields and refineries. Also one of there biggest rate loss of planes/pilots/crews, the War Mark put every fighter plane they could up, dad said the Flack was heavy enough to walk on. They lost so many planes/pilots/crews that day, they suspending any missions for 2 or 3 days to recoup/mental break ect.
I have watched about it on the Military Channel also, confirming that.

My wife likes to take the pickle juice left overs and put them on our drive way cracks to kill the weeds. It seems to work, we just don't eat enough pickles to keep the whole driveway clean and when it fresh I keep thinking of hotdogs for some reason.

Let us know how it works for you.

ERLover mentioned re-sizing pictures and the effort involved.
I know that many here will never use Facebook but I do. I find it quite useful for communicating with a limited number of friends and family. It is also useful as a home for some of my groups... Yeah at times I want to delete half of the friends and family too...   :D
Anywho, I have found that when I need to re-size a high resolution picture (like to post here or other forums) it is much easier to just post it to Facebook. Facebook just "handles it". Then I just save the posted picture back to my computer and upload that to where I want to post it.
One funny thing is that I mentioned what I was doing and why and got a lot of comments about how much they were enjoying the variety of pictures and liked seeing them.

Didn't work so well. Spotty at best and the weeds were tougher than the straight vinegar. Couldn't stand up to he weed Wacker though.
