Yes they are. The 510 fence has three holes drilled in it for attaching aux fences and it uses on of the holes to attach with a 1/4" bolt. The 520 uses the t slot to attach to the fence using a standard SS t slot slider. The body of the 520 tool also has two roll pins in the main body which match the two peripheral holes in the slider to keep it horizontal.

One more question and then I'll wait until I receive mine.

If you take all of the hardware used to secure the Cross-Cutter to the fences, are you left with two identical pieces of hardware?

No. The 520 version has the two roll pins pressed into the main body.

Your pix seem to indicate the pins are attached to the t-nut. If that be the case, the base appears identical.

Guessing Dusty's reason for asking, but I see a way to make it work on both 510 and 520. Replace the roll pins with studs that screw into the t-nut and slip into the two holes in the base. Then use the appropriate mounting hardware for each model.

Good. That means I don't need to buy a second one.

Come to think of it, the 'studs' are redundant(the pins will do for the 520) All that is needed is a bolt and knob to mount to a 510(or 500). I would add a sleeve(1/4 id, 5/16 od) to center the 1/4" bolt.

I am more likely to make one. ;)

P.S. Even if I were to purchase one(I do not have a 520), I would add the sleeve.

Why should the 1/4" bolt be centered. All it does is provide a means to attach the plate to the fence?

I had the basic same question about the two studs. All they do is keep the plate oriented so the bottom edge is parallel to the table top. Why is that a virtue?
