What a neat idea. As I age I find that I prefer low storage of my SPT's. How high is the top? Even so, this is very well done and I hope it serves your purposes. Scott

Great idea, maybe add a Lazy Susan in the middle on top with a power head that you could index to the SPT's and couple them into the individual STP's as wanted. It would have to be mounted on a track so you could slide the coupler to the STP. There is nothing wrong with the way it is and you did a great job of executing it!

The height is 37 1/2" from the bottom of the casters to the top of the table. I am working on the finish for the top table now.

I turned some spindles just under the OD of the extension tubes and mounted them to the underside of the the top table so that I can hang the two floating tables. This may prove to be a design error in that I can see it would be easy to snap one of the spindles off if I carelessly pulled the floating table off at the wrong angle. Time will tell.

I ordered additional SPT mounts but they are not in yet. I have cut some scrap pieces of melamine to use as templates for mounting the SPTs. If I mount the SPT to the melamine, then I can slide them all around to get proper placement. From there, I just need to mark the corners of the melamine with painters tape, remove the SPT from the mount, and replace the template. The templates have the holes properly aligned so I can be accurate when drilling through the table.

Provided there is room left over after mounting the SPTs, I would like to make mounts for the rip fence, sanding disks, etc. Not sure how much room I will actually have, though.

I am officially finished with this project. Although I do have space left over for some other "stuff" in the future. But as of now, I haven't decided how to use the space.

The drawers are mostly filled at this point, but I will probably be re-arranging things as I go.

For the items readily accessible, I am able to store:

Jointer
Bandsaw
Belt Sander
18" Jigsaw
520 RIp Fence
Miter Gauge Extension
2 12" Sanding Disks
Conical Disk Sander
2 Floating Tables
2 Extension Tubes
Dust Mask
Hearing Protection
2 Combination Squares
Wax Can holder
Pencil holder

I have migrated often reached for tools such as setup blocks, tape measure, layout tools, ect from other places in my shop to this cabinet, and it is now pretty much the center of my shop. I am pretty excited about it. It is easily the best improvement I've made to my shop in years.

I recently learned that that excess capacity built into a storage system is sometimes called "baby fat"
