I finally got through to Linda last week about the sharpening guide kit that I ordered almost 2 months ago. Very nice lady and in a tough position. I sympathize with her, but that doesn't help my frustation. One of the manufacturers that SS contracts with went out of business apparently. I have no projected date for my items. It's funny, kind of. I was watching the prices on Ebay for the same items and the bidding/winning prices were close to the purchase/sale price on the SS website. I thought to myself I would be better off and pay a few extra bucks to get the item new from SS. I would be insured of getting a good item and helping the company along a bit. I've had several hit and miss experiences with Ebay. So here I sit, and I still have dull chisels. I have a staved vessel project that is still sitting here and I'm afraid to touch it with my chisels in the current condition.

Back orders received

Post by claimdude »

I placed an order in June and added to it twice. The last I was told was a September 18th ship date. I received part of my order early this week an the balance of the order (5/8" arbor) today. Thanks Shopsmith!

A "phone call" how 80's is that :D Oh yea!, that's right! my SS is a 80 something machine.

Hey Claimdude, if your arbor was a Dado one when did you order it (I ordered mine in late June)?
