I also prefer masking tape, the blue painters tape being my favorite. Chalk is,,,,,, well my kids fabricated an angle iron gate frame on the sidewalk outside the shop entrance for me in July. The blue chalk still shows clearly on the sidewalk. Yes I have brushed and washed and it has seen a few rain storms. Perhaps it will disappear by spring time.
