Nudge, Nudge. Thanks for the kind words, Mr. Gilpatrick lives two towns over from here, several folks I've worked with over the years took his course in high school and spoke highly of him and his boats, the stemless design seems to wrankle some purists. Lately I've been looking at a variety of small sailing dinghy's, there a numerous to choose from. This last weekend I took a bike ride to Brooklin Maine, "the boat building capitol of the world" or so the sign read, to visit
The Wooden Boat School. While there I picked up a book by John Brooks about building plywood lap strake boats, and got to see the shops, yards, and waterfront. Absolutely awsome place. That tour convinced me to pickup a course catalog. After showing it to my wife, she shook her head and wanted to know if only one weeks vacation next year would be spent there or all three. After looking at some of those boats, my efforts pale in comparison, but there's a sailing dingy of some type in my future. Then I'll have to learn to sail the darn thing.
